Well he's at it again...Evan Blass the famed tech leaker has just unveiled press renders of the upcoming LG G6.

As you can see from the photo above you can tell that the LG G6 is definitely going against the current trends in the smartphone world. It has tiny bezels, which will be big this year and going forward. It also has a dual camera set up with a finger print sensor around the back.

The LG G6 internally is rumored to be coming with a last gen Snapdragon 821 CPU and not the new Snapdragon 835 with its new 10nm manufacturing process. LG can thank Samsung for acquiring all of the inventory of the Snapdragon 835 from Qualcomm for its upcoming Galaxy S8 and S8+.

The screen will be a whopping 5.7 inches. Sounds big doesn't it? 2 years ago people thought so, but now the consensus is more screen and a smaller, compact body. This phone will be totally usable and offer the all so desired screen real estate consumers want. Also it helps that we are looking at a beautiful QHD+ display to consume all of our media on the LG G6.

Also to note, the screen has rounded edges. This is radically different from the very sharp square edges we are use to seeing on the current crop of smartphones. Although, this is somewhere I think the industry will start moving. Matching the screen to the physical appearance of the phone gives manufactures that little bit more screen size to squeeze into their phones. Different? Yes! Will people like it? Probably not at first. Personally it looks strange to me, but I'm starting to come around to the idea.

We are expecting the LG G6 to be debuted on February 26th at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. It is rumored the LG G6 will ship globally shortly after on March 10th.

We are still months off from the official release of Apple's 10th Anniversary phone, the iPhone 8. Being months away doesn't mean speculation can't come into play.

Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has a few insights into what the Cupertino company could bring to the table in the iPhone 8. One of the most radical ideas is inspired from the new MacBook Pro's Touch Bar. Kuo has dubbed this idea the function area. Kuo also describes the pixel density Apple could switch to using in this upcoming iPhone release.

According to Kuo, the iPhone 8 (or iPhone X) will have a higher pixel density than the current line of iPhone devices. This also lines up with rumors of Apple using OLED display technology for the first time. The pixel density of 2800x1242 equates to a screen size of about 5.8 inches. This is possibly a 2K display, which many consumers contemplating switching from Android or other operating systems have complained about. This in itself would be a welcome change to those considering and the Apple loyalists.


Kuo's biggest insight idea is a trend that Apple has started though its MacBook Pro line up with the addition of their Touch Bar. Kuo said this area is internally known as the function area. Kuo claims that the display area for content will be around 2436x1125 which leaves 117px difference. This 117px will be home to the function area that will include the new function area use on the home screen and in different apps.

Apple has fallen off as an innovator the last 4 year, but could 2017 and their 10th anniversary iPhone change the game again? Can it do what the original iPhone did and create the hype that gave it its outstanding success. All eyes will be on Apple come September

In the previous post we touched on the importance of 2017 being the year of the smartwatch. Smartwatches are companions and extensions of our mobile phone so it is integral that they function just as I said like an extension of our phones. LG is taking on this challenge with one of two rumored entries pictured above.

According to known phone and tech leaker Evan Blass, his latest tweet is our best first look at the rumored device.


This gives us a great look at what could be a leaked press render of the device before its rumored debut on February 9th.

According to Android Police's David Ruddock the device will start at $249.

"Speaking to us, a trusted source claims one of LG's upcoming Google-partnered Android Wear devices, the Watch Style, will start at $249. The entry-level Style, leaked in greater visual detail yesterday, will be launched alongside the LG Watch Sport, a much more fully-featured smartwatch. We don't have pricing for that model at this time." 

Ruddock goes on to explain it's still unclear as whether or not there will be options that will increase the price of the LG Style based on band or color. With the leaking of the LG Style's price could we soon see its big brother, the LG Watch Sport's price leak soon? With rumored specs to include a standalone LTE modem for cellular data, NFC for mobile payments, a heart-rate monitor, GPS, and a bigger, higher-res display. 

The LG Style and LG Watch Sport will be a great addition to the already many upcoming smartwatches in 2017 if these rumors hold true.
